In Hāwera, South Taranaki, we had the opportunity to catch up with Whai Mahi, an organization dedicated to creating pathways for both Rangatahi (young people) and Adults to enter the workforce.
Their mission aligns with the Mayor’s Taskforce for Jobs, aiming to foster employment opportunities. At Whai Mahi, they follow an open-door policy, welcoming individuals from all walks of life and providing unwavering support and educational opportunities tailored to specific job roles.
Heading the charge are Tina and Alan, supported by an exceptional team. Together, with the backing of the Council and the local community, they have assisted more than 70 remarkable individuals in securing excellent job placements within South Taranaki. This collective effort is part of a larger nationwide movement that has already empowered over 5,000 young people.
