Community Fruit Harvest Manawatū shares fruit from people’s own backyards and orchards from the Rangitīkei through to the Manawatū. Debra and Larnz from Community Fruit Harvest Manawatū work to make it easy for fruit tree owners to share this fruit. These people are on our own doorstep, gratefull to receive the excess fruit from other peoples backyards. With the price of fresh produce skyrocketing people are struggling – this is a way we can all help others in our community.
Community Fruit Harvest donates to places like Just Zilch, Refugee Services, Plant to Plate, Highbury Whanau Centre, Paatikitiki Library, Manchester House, Whanau Ataahua, Shannon Foodbank, Levin Foodbank and a couple of churches that provide community meals.
Community Fruit Harvest invites volunteers to register their interest in picking fruit to be given to the people, individuals and groups in our community on their facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/CommunityFruitManawatu
