Whānau Manaaki is a not for profit kindergarten association comprising of over 100 kindergardens across the lower north island. It exists to support parents and tamariki grow to be the best families they can be. The most important thing they believe is essential is having a strong shared love for the tamariki no matter what background the teachers, parents or staff come from. They also shared that the major challenge children face is a being in a place where their community is not thriving and progressing together. If a family isn’t doing well then the child isn’t doing well. This is where Whanau Manaaki really aim to support not just the child but also the parents as well through things like a free van service to help transport the tamariki as well as social services. We loved hearing Whanau Manaaki insights with Amanda Coulston and sharing this story with you.
